Volunteer at the Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center

Docents lead student tours for third gradersDocent training assists community members in the educational goals of the Center and develops skills for nurturing stewardship of this unique cultural and heritage site. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of one year of service, supporting the tour program or assisting with trail maintenance.

The first step is to fill out an online application form on the Volunteer Opportunities page of the City of Poway website. Applicants over the age of 18 years are required to be fingerprinted.

City of Poway volunteers are expected to attend a free CPR/AED/first aid training within three months of acceptance into the program.
